THE NORTHMAN (2022) Movie Review

Robert Eggers has crafted a masterpiece with his Viking tale, The Northman. Based upon the Scandinavian legend of Amleth, which in turn inspired Shakespeare's Hamlet, Alexander Skarsgard stars as a Viking prince avenging the murder of his father, the King (Ethan Hawke) but his traitorous uncle (Claes Bang). While it definitely has all of the artfulness of a Robert Eggers movie, The Northman is also an action packed epic that ranks as one of the best films of the last couple of years. Nicole Kidman and Anya Taylor-Joy co-star.
